Privacy policy

What technical data DomainTools processes and how its use is limited.

What data is processed

Tools receive entered domains, IP addresses, or technical parameters only to perform the selected check. Results and history may be temporarily or persistently stored in Redis according to the current implementation. Do not enter personal data or secrets.

Cookies

The site uses a signed session cookie, a language preference, and a random visitor ID for user history. The visitor ID must not be used to identify a person.

External services

Checks may query DNS, WHOIS/RDAP, HTTP endpoints, GeoIP sources, and reCAPTCHA. Yandex Metrika is loaded only on public pages without a search query or check result; on search, history, monitoring, assistant, and dynamic result pages the tracker is disabled. Their own policies apply to data that the respective provider technically receives.

Event analytics

The internal event layer stores only permitted interaction categories and coarse page types. Query content, WHOIS responses, IP, and personal data are not valid event fields. When the assistant is enabled, the question is sent to the operator-configured LLM provider along with limited public site context; the response may be cached in Redis for a period set by the operator. Do not enter passwords, API keys, or personal data. AI can be wrong. The assistant does not change DNS, register domains, execute commands, or check domains without a separate tool.

Deletion and questions

For questions about data and deletion of identifiable records, contact us through the contact page. Technical history should not be considered private storage.
