How DomainTools creates, reviews, updates, and corrects technical materials.

Principles

DomainTools publishes materials that help solve a specific problem with domains, DNS, TLS, or networks. Text volume is not a goal. Statements are separated from examples, changeable data gets a source and verification date, and unknown parameters are marked as unknown.

Editorial process

  1. The user task and related tools are defined.
  2. The draft gets structure, a practical example, limitations, and primary sources.
  3. Automated checks find empty sections, repetition, broken links, duplicate metadata, and banned template phrases.
  4. A real editor checks facts and manually approves the material.
  5. Only after approval does the publish command change the status to published.

LLM

A language model can only help with a draft. It does not publish material, assign ratings, or fill in prices without a source. AI detection is not used as a quality measure.

Relevance

Each material has an update date and a next-review date. An overdue review is shown as a warning; significant errors are corrected according to the corrections policy.
